What is a brand identity?

A logo is an important part of your brand, but it isn't your entire brand. A complete brand identity combines a logo suite, colour palette, typography, and supporting graphic elements such as patterns, icons or illustrations to create a cohesive look and feel that reflects your business.

These elements work together to keep your brand consistent across your website, social media, signage, stationery, packaging, and marketing materials. The result is a recognisable, professional brand that helps your business build trust and make a lasting impression.

Each brand identity is tailored to your business, but typically includes the following core elements.

Creative Direction

A curated collection of visual inspiration, such as logos, icons, colours, and typography styles, that sets the tone for your brand and helps define the overall look and feel.

Concepts developed from the moodboard and creative direction. You’ll choose the direction that feels right for your business, which is then developed further into your final brand identity.

Logo Suite

A versatile collection of logo variations, including your primary logo, secondary logo, submark, and brandmark. Designed to ensure your identity works seamlessly across print and digital applications.

Colour Palette & Typography

A curated selection of colours and complementary fonts that create a cohesive and recognisable brand identity, supported by a simple style guide for consistent use across all applications.

Graphic Elements

Supporting design elements such as patterns, icons, illustrations, or textures that add personality, strengthen your visual identity, and make your brand instantly recognisable.

Brand Guidelines

A clear, easy-to-follow guide that shows you how to use your brand consistently across all platforms. Helping you maintain a cohesive and professional brand as your business grows.

Brand Identity Design Process

STEP 1

Enquire

After submitting your enquiry form, we’ll schedule a time to discuss your business and project requirements. I’ll then prepare a customised proposal outlining the project scope, deliverables and pricing. Once approved, a deposit is required to secure your booking.

STEP 2

Discovery

You’ll complete a brand questionnaire designed to uncover your business vision, target audience, personality and style preferences. From there, I’ll develop moodboards and creative direction to establish the visual style and overall feel of your brand.

STEP 3

Design

Now comes the fun part! Initial brand concepts are created based on the discovery phase. We’ll review the concepts together and refine the chosen direction. I’ll then develop the full suite of brand identity deliverables.

STEP 4

Launch

Once the designs are approved, I’ll prepare and package your final brand files, including comprehensive brand guidelines. After launch, I’ll also be available for ongoing support as you begin applying your new branding across your business.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get started?

Start by filling in the Project Enquiry Form. Share a bit about your business and what you’re looking for, and I’ll be in touch within 1–2 business days to schedule a discovery call. It’s the perfect opportunity for us to discuss your project and see if we’re a good fit.

What do I need before my project starts?

Before we begin, payment for your first invoice is required before the project start date. You’ll also need to complete a discovery questionnaire. It’s a simple form that helps me understand your business goals, audience, and style preferences.

What happens if I don’t like the concepts?

The design process begins with a detailed discovery phase to ensure we’re aligned on your business vision, target audience, personality and style preferences before concepts are created. Once you receive the initial concepts, you’ll have the opportunity to share feedback and I’ll refine the chosen direction to ensure the final outcome feels right for your business.

If you’d like to explore additional concepts or directions beyond the included revisions, these can be developed at an hourly rate.

What file formats will I receive?

You’ll receive a full suite of logo variations designed for both digital and print use, ensuring your brand looks consistent and professional wherever it appears. Files are supplied in EPS, SVG, PNG, and JPG formats, in both colour and black-and-white versions.

Do you do printing?

Yes! I offer print management for business cards, stationery, brochures, and more. Or, if you have a preferred local printer, I’m happy to coordinate directly with them to ensure a smooth process.

How do I pay for my project?

A 50% deposit is required to secure your project in my calendar. The remaining 50% is due once the project is complete and before final files are delivered. Payments are made via bank transfer.
